Our 2 Ecology classes went on a field trip to Dr. John and Linda Peck's in Rockville April 23, 2008. We worked on projects such as putting up Bluebird houses, a Wood-duck house and a Purple Martin house. Some groups worked on preparing raptor rooms for owls and a Red-tailed hawk. Everyone got a chance to help remove debris in an old dump located in the new Rockville County Park. Linda Peck shared her expertise in wildlife rehabilitation and John shared about the land trust that they have to prevent their land from ever being developed. Students got a chance to see how the Pecks live simply and in harmony with the Earth. Before leaving for CHS, we got a tour of the new Eagle Park, which is owned by the town of Rockville and sits next to the new county park.
