UPDATE ON OUR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PROJECTS
It is very exciting for us to anticipate what we will be able to accomplish in the years ahead with the $6 million raised during the Capital Campaign.
In the summer of 2007, we got a good start on completing some of the identified renovation projects. These included upgrading/renovating the kitchen and food service area, replacing the bleachers in the North Gym and totally upgrading the electrical service for the school.
Our plans for the summer of 2008 are to put a new roof on the South Building, repair the freight elevator, and address handicap accessibility and life safety issues, which include a passenger elevator, and sprinkler system/fire protection and code upgrades. In the following summer of 2009, we are planning to build a chapel near the main entrance in the South Building, to relocate offices in the South Building and to renovate the Library/Media Center. As pledges are completed and we get a firm idea on remaining funds, we will prioritize additional projects.
We have committed 40 percent or approximately $2.4 million of the total campaign funds raised toward scholarships. As those funds increase, we will see the dollars for scholarships increase. After pledge commitments have been collected, we will hold a Recognition Ceremony and honor those who have contributed and those who have chosen a naming area. Even though the capital campaign is formally concluded, we will continue to seek donations for specific projects in hopes that we can complete additional renovation projects that were identified. Any additional help you can give will certainly be appreciated.
